The Litecoin Foundation has reportedly aligned with Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) as it aims to promote the adoption of cryptocurrency. The UFC which is the leading mixed martial arts organization will be seen promoting cryptocurrency as per the new sponsorship deal.

According to the disclosed details of the partnership, Litecoin logo will be splashed on the octagonal fighting canvas at the upcoming event named as “UFC 232”. The event would be a rematch between the legendary UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones and light heavyweight Alexander Gustafsson. The fight, however, is scheduled to take place on 29th December 2018 in California, US.

It would be the first time in the history of the UFC when an event will be sponsored by crypto. According to a Litecoin Foundation statement issued on December 27, the event is a great opportunity to spread awareness pertaining to Litecoin. The UFC event is attended by millions of viewers.

The Litecoin Foundation further stated that the rapid advancement and adoption of cryptocurrency and blockchain clearly hints at the strong possibility of cryptocurrency moving towards the mainstream. The foundation is aimed at promoting the adoption of the cryptocurrency. The foundation also noted that it would look for future collaboration with UFC in the longer run.

The signing of the deal coincides with a similar sponsorship deal closed in 2017. The sponsorship deal required Canadian mixed martial artist Rory MacDonald to wear a branded outwear with the Dash cryptocurrency for a Bellator 192 fight. Back in January, former lightweight MMA champion Michael Chandler was also reported of having signed a deal with crypto trading platform CoinLion.
