According to the recent reports, tech giant Samsung’s latest Galaxy S10 will have a special private storage functionality designed especially for cryptocurrency private keys. The smartphone was revealed to the public on 20th February 2019 and its special feature is believed to have been designed for crypto users in the form of Samsung Knox, according to a statement released by Samsung in a press release.
Samsung revealed that the Galaxy S10 is constructed with a defense mechanism of Samsung Knox and also has safe storage powered by hardware that includes user’s private keys for blockchain-backed mobile services. Besides that, the smartphone comes with an upgraded camera system which includes advanced intelligence as well as the ability to charge other smartphones through wireless connectivity, 256GB storage, as well as 8GB RAM and certain other features. However, details of Knox solutions were not revealed immediately, and Samsung also refrained to leaking any information pertaining to its unique solution.
The latest Samsung S10 will join a range of smartphones that are specially designed while considering cryptocurrencies. These smartphones include Sirin Lab’s Finney and HTC’s EXODUS 1 both of which were announced earlier in 2018. Though, Samsung is the largest smartphone manufacturer to come up and support blockchain features on its phone. The company is likely to experience a wider distribution of its latest smartphone contrary to its competitors. The Galaxy, in fact, is the flagship line of Samsung and as many as four more devices are likely to be launched under the S10 umbrella brand.
There are also rumors of Galaxy S10 to have a crypto wallet as well. The rumors although have been around since last one year but there are no such reports from the company till the date.
The launch of Galaxy S10 coincides with the 10th anniversary of Galaxy S phones. Apart from the much-hyped talk of it having the latest crypto feature, the smartphone will have many notable other features. The device will have a 10-megapixel camera with the capability to shoot 4K UHD video. The rear camera of the smartphone has also been upgraded, but it will no longer support Iris Scanning. However, the login is not even securer with a fingerprint sensor. The smartphone has also retained the face unlock feature.
The Galaxy S10 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 processor. It has a MicroSD card slots for extended storage. It runs on the latest version of Android i.e. Android 9 Pie but there are not many software updates. In short, the smartphone looks like any other Samsung Galaxy phones with certain updates. Samsung, this time, has introduced the smartphone in a number of colors such as pink, yellow, and blue to match with the taste of all.
